Free Access to NCME TV Now Available from Becker Library

Becker Medical Library now provides subscriber access to NCME-TV, a series of professionally produced CME video programs on contemporary topics of interest to primary care physicians, hospitalists, and other specialists. NCME TV programs provide updates on important topics, including state-mandated CME topics, which are rarely covered by other CME providers.
Beginning in February 2008, and every month thereafter, a new CME-certified video is developed, released, and posted at http://www.ncmetv.com/. The main categories for programs are:
- Masters Programs on Critical Topics in Medicine
- State-mandated CME Topics
- Programs Covering Hospital Quality/Performance and Credentialing Issues
- Late-Breaking and Hot Topics
Physicians can use a personal password to access the online program and receive CME credit for viewing it. Programs are available on-demand and can be accessed at any time. CME certificates are sent upon receipt of the activity evaluation.
To view any of the programs, a one-time registration using the NCME Hospital ID unique to Washington University is required. (Registration is available only to Washington University faculty and staff.) This ID can be found by linking in the Becker Medical Library catalog to any of the NCME TV on-line programs, e.g. Medical Ethics: Informed Consent to Medical Treatment. You will find full registration information in the catalog. Once you have registered, you can logon to the NCME-TV web site and view any of the programs. There are currently 10 programs available.
In addition to online access to each program, the Library provides access to a DVD copy of each new release. These are available for checkout at the Information Services desk.
