Description:
Ingenuity Pathways Analysis (IPA) enables biologists and bioinformaticians to model, analyze and understand the complex biological systems at the core of all life science research. IPA 4.0 allows researchers to analyze datasets from many different experimentation platforms to identify key functions, pathways, networks and mechanisms that distinguish biological states. IPA 4.0 also enables the creation of customized pathways for particular targets, biomarkers, and disease areas, as well as advanced searching over Ingenuity’s drug and disease content.
Objectives:
This seminar will cover basic and advanced usage of Ingenuity Pathways Analysis, including the advanced search and reporting features. Example use-cases will be used to highlight functionality. Special topics, Q&A and hands-on sessions will follow the formal presentation. Users are encouraged to bring their own pre-formatted (Ingenuity template) datasets to upload and analyze during this portion of the workshop. Please contact Ingenuity Systems for assistance in pre-formatting your datasets prior to the workshop (support@ingenuity.com or 650-381-5111).
Who should attend:
Intended as an introductory course for all WUSTL staff working in basic or clinical research studying mammalian genes or proteins. This seminar is appropriate for scientists with or without molecular expression data (DNA/RNA/protein). Topics covered will be of interest to Biologists, Clinicians and Bioinformaticians alike.
Instructor:
Chris Kirchberg, Ingenuity Systems
Time Required (please see syllabus):
1.5 hours for lecture
7 hours for lecture AND hands-on training (one hour for lunch)
