New Licensing Arrangement for Ingenuity Pathways Analysis (IPA) Software
Ingenuity Pathways Analysis (IPA) is a software application that enables biologists and bioinformaticians to identify the biological mechanisms, pathways, and functions most relevant to their experimental datasets or genes of interest. It allows researchers to graphically view, analyze, and query data in a comprehensive and seamless manner to understand molecular interactions, biological functions and disease on multiple levels.
In response to a number of requests from researchers, Becker Medical Library purchased a site license for Ingenuity Pathways Analysis (IPA) software which provided free unrestricted access for the entire Washington University School of Medicine community through June 2007. The response to the trial period for this software was overwhelmingly positive and we are pleased to announce that we have purchased four concurrent user licenses for Washington University School of Medicine researchers to keep pace with user demand. Based on past use of the software, this high level of access should ensure that IPA is available whenever it is needed. We can provide yearly access to IPA for $850 per account, a savings of almost 60% off the cost of a single user license if it were purchased directly from Ingenuity ($2,000). The access period began on August 1, 2007 and runs through July 31, 2008.
