DiscoveryGate Training Session – March 13, 2007
DiscoveryGate – Find the chemistry and bioactivity information that you need
Recently we announced that the Washington University community has access to a new, innovative resource tool to find basic, molecular, biological, medicinal and other chemistry-related information. Medical School clinical, pre-clinical and research faculty, staff and students can use the web-based DiscoveryGate interface to access Crossfire Beilstein, and many more resources.
DiscoveryGate replaces MDL Commander, the software we originally used to search Crossfire Beilstein. A link is available from SCOPUS to DiscoveryGate as it was from MDL Commander.
MDL/Elsevier, producers of DiscoveryGate, is sending database experts to the WU Medical School campus on the afternoon of March 13, 2007 to run a free training session on “getting the most out of DiscoveryGate.” You are invited to attend any or all three sessions. The training will be held in:
| Farrell Learning and Teaching Center (FLTC), rooms 401A & 401B | |
| 1:30 - 2:15 pm | Introduction to DiscoveryGate |
| 2:15 - 3:15 pm | Searching Bioactivity Databases |
| 3:15 - 4:00 pm | Searching Beilstein Database using DiscoveryGate |
If your interest is mainly Bioactivity/Drug Discovery you may want to attend only the first and second sessions. Similarly, if your interests are mainly Searching Beilstein/Chemical Structures databases then you may want to attend the first and last sessions.
