Program Outline
The librarians and information specialists of the Becker Medical Library will operate a library liaison program with all medical school departments and graduate programs. This new liaison program will be geared specifically to determine the information and technology needs of the departments and its personnel and through collaborative planning ensure that those needs are met and services customized. The work will be coordinated in a collaborative developmental manner between the assigned librarian and the contact person/faculty/committee of the respective departments. Each librarian will make the contact with the department/program and discuss how best to establish the cooperation to address the service needs for that department.
As such the following is a key objective:
- Meet early with departments/groups/programs
- to discuss information and technology needs.
- to plan how the library’s services and resources can address the user needs.
- to promote the access and use of new and existing resource tools/services and technology applications.
The liaisons will be the frontline spokespersons for the library in our push to establish our presence and our resources as a driving force to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in HEALTHCARE DELIVERY.
