Elsevier MDL® DiscoveryGate
The Washington University community has access to an innovative resource tool to find chemistry-related information. Medical School clinical and pre-clinical research faculty, staff, and students can use the web-based DiscoveryGate interface to access Crossfire Beilstein and CrossFire Gmelin. DiscoveryGate replaces MDL Commander, the software we used for a number of years to search Crossfire Beilstein. A link is available from SCOPUS to DiscoveryGate as it was from MDL Commander.
All users will need to install some helper applications when they first access the site. At this time, accessing the product requires IE 6.0 or Safari on a Mac. Firefox and IE 7.0 are not yet supported.
Due to licensing restrictions by the database owners Elsevier MDL (the provider of DiscoveryGate), we are unable to provide the site’s URL from our public web site. Because of this restriction, we also cannot provide a direct link from our Quick Links menu or from our Catalog, both of which provide unrestricted information about resources.
