Library Digital Initiatives
The Becker Library Digital Initiatives staff supports both standard and innovative use of computing technologies to enhance Library programs and services by:
- Providing consultation, planning, design, and development leadership to extend the existing infrastructure
- Working with Library and Central IT staff to install, operate, maintain, and facilitate technology applications for carrying out the Library’s mission.
- Coordinating multiple perspectives and interests across the Library through coherent project management of all technology-based projects to ensure that resource impacts and demands are fully anticipated and considered
- Scanning the environment – internal and external – to identify and evaluate relevant new and emerging technologies, architectures and standards and bringing relevant knowledge to Becker practices
Specifically, the Digital Initiatives group:
- Actively maintains collaborative working relationships to plan, evaluate and implement technology solutions in the Library
- Identifies project resource needs and requirements
- Builds working groups
- Sets work plans and project timelines
- Assesses existing technology solutions and resources
