Description: Portrait of Ernest Sachs, M.D., by Fred Conway. Oil on canvas, framed, total dimensions 60 x 44.5 inches. A brass plaque at the base of the frame reads: “Dr. Ernest Sachs / born: January 25 1879 / died: December 2, 1958 / Washington University School of Medicine / professor of neurosurgery, 1919-1946 / ‘This portrait dedicated to the spirit of this great teacher by his disciples and some members of the class of 1930’.”
