| Description: | Portrait of E. V. (Edmund Vincent) Cowdry, Ph.D., by J. Scott MacNutt, 1946. Oil on canvas, framed, total dimensions 49 x 42 inches. A brass plaque on the base of the frame reads: “Edmund V. Cowdry, Ph.D., D.Sc. / 1888-1975.” Cowdry was an anatomist, cytologist, and gerontologist. He headed the WUSM cytology program from 1928, became head of anatomy in 1941, and retired in 1960. |
