| Description: | Portrait of David P. Barr, M.D., by Charles F. Galt, 1942. Oil on canvas, framed, total dimensions 38 x 32 inches. A brass plaque at the base of the frame reads “DAVID P. BARR / PROFESSOR OF MEDICINE / 1924-1941.” Barr was the head of the Department of Medicine in that period. An inventory of portraits compiled in 1951 indicates that the item was acquired in 1942. |
