Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project
The Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project - HCUP, pronounced H-cup is a family of health care databases and related software tools and products developed through a Federal-State-Industry partnership and sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. HCUP is based on statewide data collected by individual data organizations across the United States and provided to AHRQ through the HCUP partnership.
Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services
The Department of Health and Senior Services protects and promotes quality of life and health for all Missourians by developing and implementing programs and systems that provide: information and education; effective regulation and oversight; quality services; and surveillance of diseases and conditions. The site includes information about health and protecting the public; data and statistical reports; news and public notices; laws, regulations and manuals; and links to state websites.
Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report
The MMWR weekly contains data on specific diseases as reported by state and territorial health departments and reports on infectious and chronic diseases, environmental hazards, natural or human-generated disasters, occupational diseases and injuries, and intentional and unintentional injuries. Also included are reports on topics of international interest and notices of events of interest to the public health community.
National Center for Health Statistics
The National Center for Health Statistics - NCHS is a part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Health and Human Services. NCHS data systems include data on vital events as well as information on health status, lifestyle and exposure to unhealthy influences, the onset and diagnosis of illness and disability, and the use of health care. These data are used by policymakers in Congress and the Administration, by medical researchers, and by others in the health community.
National Vital Statistics System
The National Vital Statistics System is responsible for the nation's official vital statistics. These vital statistics are provided through state operated registration systems. The registration of vital events--births, deaths, marriages divorces, and fetal deaths--is a state function.
St. Louis City Department of Health
The mission of the St. Louis City Department of Health is to assure a healthy community through continuous protection, prevention and promotion of the public's health. This is achieved by caring, qualified, culturally competent employees who are responsive and proactive to community needs.
St. Louis County Department of Health
Saint Louis County, Department of Health promotes optimal health for people who live, work, or visit the County. This is accomplished by monitoring and assessing the public health status of the County, and developing programs and/or policies that prevent illness or injury. On an annual basis, DOH reviews the health status indicators of its residents and stakeholders. It evaluates the status of the environment that affects the health status of residents. It looks at trends in communicable disease, vector control, and other pertinent indicators, to create a report card on the health of County residents and stakeholders. It also identifies issues and concerns that currently or potentially could have negative impacts on the health status of residents and stakeholders.
