Becker Library Browser Toolbar

Enhance your browser toolbar’s usefulness and keep connected to Becker resources at any time with the customized Becker Library browser toolbar. The Becker Library Toolbar is a custom-made web browser extension for the Washington University School of Medicine community. It can be used with either Internet Explorer (IE) or Firefox. The browser toolbar is customizable – you can add or subtract components, connect to your email account, add links to Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel, and more.

The Becker Library toolbar is completely safe to download, install, and use. It is easy to deactivate and remove; the software does not transmit any information that can identify a user and does not create security holes. Installing the Toolbar

To install the Becker Library Toolbar, go to http://mybbml.mylibrarytoolbar.com/ and click on “Download Toolbar”.

Customizing the Toolbar

Once the toolbar is installed users are free to customize it. First, click on the down arrow to the right of the Bernard Becker Medical Library logo. Then select Toolbar Options.

Feel free to add or subtract components such as the E-mail Notifier, Popup Blocker, Weather, or Online Radio from the Personal Components tab.

The Predefined Components tab allows adding or removing links to the Becker Catalog, QuickLinks, and RSS Feeds.

The Useful Components tab allows adding shortcuts to popular Windows applications (such as Calculator and Notepad) and Microsoft applications (such as Word and Excel).

The Additional Settings tab provides options such as Enable the search box history, Suggest searches, and Automatic updates.
